Save-the-Castle™ is a new concept in giving where thousands of contributors making small to moderate-sized gifts make a huge impact on saving our Lake Tahoe treasures. And each contributor earns a chance to preview Thunderbird programs and experiences including curator-led Secrets-of-the-Castle tours, dining at Thunderbird Lodge, THUNDERBIRD yacht cruises, and more.
Each January, for each $25,000 raised by the Save-the Castle™ program, Thunderbird’s Governing Board of Directors will randomly choose one Save-the-Castle contributor to bring limited guests to visit Thunderbird Lodge and preview Thunderbird’s educational programs, historic vehicles and vessels, and experiential activities.
Save-the-Castle™ gifts ensure Thunderbird Lodge remains open to the public. Plus, your charitable contributions are safeguarding a vast collection of historic art and artifacts for future generations, including the construction of Lake Tahoe’s first art and history museum at Incline Village, Nevada.
