Weddings at Thunderbird Lake Tahoe

It's Where To Get Married at Lake Tahoe
There is no more enchanting or memorable location for your Lake Tahoe wedding ceremony, reception, or rehearsal dinner than historic Thunderbird Lake Tahoe: Lake Tahoe’s Castle-in-the-Sky and its world famous Thunderbird Yacht. The 70-year-old stone house and grounds snuggle the shoreline with the water at your feet, while Lake Tahoe and the surrounding snow-capped mountains become a panoramic backdrop, perfect for your ceremony, your photographs and your reception.

Your wedding party at Lake Tahoe can be enjoyed amidst the waterfront gazebo, waterfalls and secluded terraces connected by intricate stone pathways, providing special gathering places for the enjoyment of your wedding guests.

Outdoor ceremonies under a perfectly blue Tahoe sky are our preference, but we do know the weather can change quickly. We offer our Lighthouse Room and the serene lakeside lawn as the perfect location for your special seated dinner and dancing, with breathtaking scenery everywhere you look.

Speaking of dinner, we have an executive chef on-site or we can work with your caterers and wedding planners to coordinate each element of your important event.

Delight your guests with complimentary guided tours of the buildings, grounds, and Thunderbird Yacht. In 1936, George Whittell Jr., a San Francisco millionaire, spared no expense constructing his whimsical "Lake Cottage" and its sculpted-rock small cabins, ideally suited for your special day.

Make Magical Moments and Celebrate for a Cause
As you begin your new life together at Thunderbird Lake Tahoe, you can help save a piece of Lake Tahoe’s historic past. It's your happy day and we are glad to be a part of it.
