Event Details

As its principal fundraising event, Thunderbird Lake Tahoe hosts four Winemaker's Dinners on the second Sunday of each month from July through October to preserve Lake Tahoe’s Castle-in-the-Sky and the world famous Thunderbird yacht. Your memorable evening starts in the Old Lodge with select wines and appetizers. Tour this National Historic Site and share the legacy while strolling magnificent lawns and gardens or drinking in the vistas from a spectacular stone terrace.

Invited chefs work closely with each winemaker to pair their dinner course offerings with California's finest wines. A sunset dinner is served in the Lighthouse Room with panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. The evening includes a lively auction of exclusive Thunderbird items and events, along with the opportunity to purchase selected wines.

You may purchase individual dinner tickets or buy the entire series. The price of each dinner is $195 per person. ($125 of each ticket is a charitable contribution.) Seating is limited to 90 people per dinner so make your reservations early.

To reduce the high cost of merchant fees, Thunderbird Lake Tahoe prefers payment by check. However, all major credit cards are accepted.

Shuttle bus transportation is provided to and from Thunderbird Lodge. Shuttles depart Lake Tahoe School (995 Tahoe Blvd, Incline Village) at 4:30PM and 5PM. Dinner seating begins at 6PM.

By prior arrangement, limited on-site parking is reserved for Flagship and Castle level contributors and for the mobility impaired. Admiral and Castle level contributors may arrive by boat and tie up at Thunderbird Cove.

Dinners typically conclude by 9PM. Dress is business casual with a coat or wrap recommended as Tahoe evenings can turn chilly. Wear comfortable walking shoes. High heel shoes are never appropriate when strolling the uneven stone pathways and grounds of Thunderbird Lodge.

All ticket sales are final. No refunds, substitutions, or exchanges.

Thunderbird Lake Tahoe is operated by Thunderbird Preservation Society, a 501(c)(3) public charity. A portion of the wine dinner ticket price may be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
