The LodgeLODGE

The magical Thunderbird Lodge National Historic Site is the centerpiece of Thunderbird Lake Tahoe. This historic home of George Whittell, Jr. is a museum and learning center for the charitable programs of the non-profit Thunderbird Preservation Society.

The house and gardens are open for public guided tours on Tuesday through Saturday from May through October. Private group tours are available year-round.

When seeking an extraordinary location to host your wedding, rehearsal dinner, corporate function, business meeting, family gathering, or special occasions, look no further than Thunderbird Lodge, Lake Tahoe’s Castle-in-the-Sky.

Thunderbird Lodge is a historic landmark at-risk. Thunderbird Lake Tahoe receives no government support and is funded entirely by gifts from friends like you. Please help ensure a future for Nevada’s only historic house museum estate at Lake Tahoe by joining Thunderbird Lake Tahoe’s Preservation Club or making a charitable donation today.

Join us at Thunderbird Lake Tahoe for our fabulous happenings. These parties, including our ever-popular Winemakers' Dinners, are offered throughout the summer season and are one way you can help save this national treasure.
